Vaiju is having a conversation with her inspector friend, Milind. He asks her why she accepted a forced marriage. Vaiju lies, saying her marriage is happy and her husband is very supportive. She tells him that her husband encourages her to continue her studies and that she’s preparing for her 12th standard exams. Milind expresses his happiness for her.
Meanwhile, Rannvijay tells Vasundhara that he can’t accompany Jaya to Jhumri Patan for two days because he needs to go to Pune for mill work. Rao Saheb, puzzled, remarks that none of their clients are based in Pune. Rannvijay fabricates another excuse, saying they are new clients. Nagraj questions him further, but Rannvijay keeps dodging the details. Vasundhara insists he join Jaya, as everything has been planned. Jaya, disappointed, tells Rannvijay not to compromise, saying his clients are more important than family. Vasundhara tries to persuade him, but Rannvijay knows he needs to talk to Vaiju for answers. He begs his family for permission and leaves.
Vaiju sits down to study, but tears keep falling. She had hoped to start fresh but feels overwhelmed. Rannvijay, on the other hand, wonders why he keeps returning to Jhumri Patan, knowing Vaiju won’t accept his financial help. However, he feels the need to end their relationship so he can fully commit to Jaya. Jaya, upset, wonders why Rannvijay’s work with a mysterious client seems more important than her and feels like he’s drifting away little by little.
As Vaiju prepares for her exams, she hears a knock at the door and hopes it’s someone special. When she opens it, she finds Milind and feels slightly disappointed. Milind teases her, saying he’s come to check on her preparation, and brings jalebi and vada pav. However, Vaiju says she’s fasting and can’t eat. Aaji feeds Vaiju curd and sugar for good luck, and Milind follows suit. Aaji remarks that Rannvijay should have been there too. Vaiju shows the pen Rannvijay gifted her, recalling how he had said she would write a new chapter of success with it.
After finishing her exam, the other girls tell Vaiju how lucky she is to have a supportive husband like Rannvijay. Meanwhile, Rannvijay arrives in Jhumri Patan as Vaiju reflects on how he once asked her to remarry. Rannvijay loses balance on his bike, and both he and Vaiju, who is walking ahead, fall together. He offers his hand to help her up, but Vaiju gets up without his assistance. Rannvijay then tells her he needs to settle things with her for saving him. Vaiju refuses, saying his life is priceless and cannot be repaid.
