Vaiju tearfully puts on her vermillion and mangalsutra as she prepares to return to Jhumri Patan. Though the symbols of marriage were forced upon her, she vows to keep them for life. Rannvijay is puzzled by Vaiju’s sudden departure without informing anyone. Vaiju reflects that her relationship with Rannvijay is like a shadow—sometimes invisible. While sitting in a bus, she sees Rannvijay, injured, watching her. She wonders why he is there in such a state, while he thinks about the turmoil she has caused by leaving so abruptly.
Their emotions speak louder than words. Vaiju hopes Rannvijay will ask her to stay, while he silently wishes she would step off the bus. As Rannvijay walks toward her, both exchange intense glances, but before he can reach her, the bus departs, leaving him behind. Jaya arrives and asks if Rannvijay found Vaiju. He reflects that if Vaiju didn’t want to stay, there was nothing he could do to stop her. Resigned, he tells Jaya that it’s time to head home.
On the bus, Vaiju attempts to pay her fare, but the conductor demands more since it’s a deluxe bus. She admits she doesn’t have enough money. Meanwhile, Rannvijay, troubled by her departure, drives recklessly. Jaya expresses hope that the family might find Vaiju at the railway station. The conductor, however, insists that Vaiju must get off at the next stop if she can’t pay. Vaiju pleads to continue to Jhumri Patan, but her request is denied. As fate would have it, Rannvijay speeds ahead and suddenly pulls up in front of the bus. Jaya scolds him for his reckless driving and takes the wheel, noticing that he is too unwell to drive.
Rannvijay insists that Jaya drop him off at the sugar mill. When Jaya returns home, she informs the family about his whereabouts. Sulekha remarks that it’s for the best, while Rao Saheb questions why Rannvijay went to the mill. Vasundhara, on the other hand, claims to know where Vaiju might be. Meanwhile, the bus Vaiju is on breaks down. The conductor inspects the vehicle but can’t find the issue. Vaiju offers to take a look, but the conductor dismisses her, stating that she won’t be able to fix an engine. However, the other passengers encourage him to let her try.
To everyone’s surprise, Vaiju successfully repairs the engine, and the bus resumes its journey. Grateful, the conductor allows her to travel to Jhumri Patan without paying the fare. Back at the mill, Rannvijay misses Vaiju once again. When he returns home, he is surprised to find the family packing their bags. Jaya informs him that they are all heading to Jhumri Patan to bring Vaiju back. Rannvijay panics, fearing that if they reach her, they will uncover the truth about his relationship with Vaiju.
